Hey buddy, I’m sorry to hear that you are having difficulties with your parents. Having issues with the parents can be common but also really annoying! Keep in mind your parents have grown up for so many decades living a certain way and they may not understand why anyone would go vegan. Also, parents often feel like they are losing control when you start to decline to eat the foods they want you to eat. Parents can be one of the most difficult parts of being vegan.

You are a compassionate person and you should be proud of that! You should not let other people tell you that you cannot be fully compassionate. You love animals and you do not want to harm them and you should stand up for your values of compassion and kindness. You probably have seen videos of what dairy cows have gone through and you don’t want to support that, right? Keep in mind that we live in a very deluded world where compassion towards animals is seen as weird by others. Isn’t it strange that everybody eats dead animals, drinks breastmilk, eats coagulated breast milk (cheese), eats chicken periods, etc? Yet when we refuse to eat these gross “foods”, we are the weird ones!

But you will start to meet new people who also have the same values. When you start to meet other vegans, you are going to really enjoy talking about all of this. Where do you live may I ask? I know that in some countries, meat consumption is a huge part of culture. It is part of culture just about everywhere in the world but in some cultures even more so. Please let me know if you have any specific questions. We are here to help you navigate through this wonderful transition that you have chosen to make. You are helping animals every day and you should be happy and proud and not let anybody tell you otherwise.
